Call it whatever you want, whether you plan to use a pirate theme or create a high-end fund-raiser with keys, but hundreds of our customers call this one a winner! The only item that is a MUST is the special lock with keys that fit.
You can order a la carte or order a KIT, which is self-contained and includes everything. (Details follow.) If you have a chest or something with a hasp, order a la carte. We ship less-than-minimum quantities, too, but the unit cost increases. Whatever you choose, we try to give you the most bang for your buck. Please allow 10 days (minimum) between placing the order and holding your promotion because we apply a $10 rush charge due to paperwork involved.
That means--PLAN AHEAD! The rush charge covers our headache meds required to get it to you on time!

NOTE: We've helped a lot of customers who found their chest in a dusty storeroom, don't remember where they got it, when they got it - but they need opening keys. If that's you, call and let us help you figure it out. Order minimums apply to all new customers. If the keys or lock are rusty, we suggest you start over.

START WITH THE LOCK

Only one lock is pictured here, but there are two styles and four choices available. The measurements are roughly the same for either style. These are not "play" locks the size used for luggage. These are heavy-duty made in America locks.


1. Brass Padlock - $ 15 each. Locks measure 1-1/2" wide by 2-1/2" tall, when the shackle is in the "locked" position. The diameter of this shackle (the curved steel rod) is thick._If you plan to use your own chest, measure the clearance of the lock plate on your chest. The Treasure Chest Lock needs a clearance of a MINIMUM 3/8 inch to work.

The "styles" are for either a "ridged" key with a "bump down the length, or for a "flat" key. The locks for either look similar. The "ridged" lock has FOUR different tumbler choices, and the "flat" lock has two choices. Those choices mean you can run a promotion with four chests, each having different locks that require a separately - keyed opener. But all the "bogus" keys will fit into any of the locks.




2. Opening Keys--that fit the lock. These are sold individually--15 cents each. Quantity price breaks apply: 200-499 opening keys @ $14 per 100 (14 cents each). More than 500 openers @ $13 per 100 (13 cents each); 1,000 or more @ 12 cents each.

3. Non-Opening Keys--Quantity discounts apply. See below. ALL non-opening (i.e. "bogus" or "losing") keys fit into any matching lock style (ridged or flat ) but those keys are not interchangeable. A flat key requires a different lock style than a ridged one.

NOTE: Keys are heavy. Figure 6 lbs. per M freight weight. Expedited delivery is expensive, and going up on January 1, 2008. Keep the 10 day order time in mind to avoid freight and rush charges.

Please order enough! Tiny orders are as demanding as big ones. Customer Re-orders: $15 minimum. NEW Customer Orders: $25 minimum. Payment by check welcome if you allow time between mail delivery and shipping time. Minimums exclude freight charges and applicable Texas sales taxes.

 KITS

So many choices, so little time! Order a KIT, which includes: 1,000 non-winning keys, a lock, 25 openers and bonus goodies not sold separately ( 25 gift certificates, window banners, 6 buttons and pirate hats, and 60 feet of 12" x 18" pennants). Both kits contain the same stuff - the difference between "Medium Pirate" and Large "Whale" is the size. A Medium Kit option is a "striated" coloration that is a cross between "camo" and "faux tortoise-shell". All Whale kits are solid black with gold-painted wooden "bands"

Medium Pirate Chest KIT $ 135.00
This black with "gold" painted bands measures 16" x 8.5" x 9" and is made of 5/8" particle board with a curved veneer top. Shipped complete in one carton, ground freight charges to your location are based on a 16 lb. weight.

Medium Pirate Chest also available singly (not as a kit ) - $ 60.00 each.

Large Whale KIT - $ 190.00
Measures 23-1/2" x 14-1/2" x 13-1/2", this one is big enough to bury a pirate! Particle board and veneered top construction, this super-sized unit is hefty, solid black with faux gold painted "metal" bands. Kit is shipped in 2 cartons to avoid damage in transit from keys rattling around inside.

 SPEAKING OF FREIGHT CHARGES: Orders are drop-shipped via UPS or Fed Ex by the manufacturer, except for less than minimum orders. Freight has risen dramatically since January 2007 and kits and some other chests are now priced at "Dimensional" weight, not the actual one. We regret this profoundly, but we are not profiting from these upgrades, and we try hard to quote your cost as close to actual as we are charged. If you have an existing UPS or FX account, we will cheerfully have the order shipped on your account number.

Your Basic BLACK & GOLD Pirate Styles:
1) The Moby Jr. - $ 75. Measures 18" x 10" x 8-1/2", solid black with faux gold "bands" (similar to Large KIT chest pictured). The difference is that The Moby Jr. has FOUR gold bands, not two. Also heavy @ 10 lbs. freight weight Ground Shipping. Expedited weight is between 18 and 20 lbs.

2) The SMALL SAILOR Chest -$50
Similar to the Medium Pirate Chest shown in the KIT, but smaller measuring 13" x 8.5" x 9". Curved veneer top over particle board. Freight weight is 8 lbs.

BETTER WOODEN CHESTS

 

 

1) Pirate King - $ 175. Natural basswood in honey tones, measures 23-1/2" x 14-1/2" x 13-1/2". Pretty enough to use for your hope chest. 30 lbs. Ground Freight weight.

 

2) Long John - $125. Natural honey-tone natural basswood,two painted "straps" over the curved top. Measures 19" x 15" x 10". 30 lbs. Ground Freight weight.

3) The Matey - $75. Also natural basswood with two faux straps, this chest measures 16" x 8-1/2" x 9". 6 lbs Ground Freight weight.
